You should have both the core software and the graphics software installed. The lack of USB 3.0 ports also annoys us, but remember, laptops nowadays usually have more than 2 USB 3.0 ports. There are 2 sets of drivers for the Displaylink USB docks. There 2 two always-on USB 3.0 ports, and that’s not something you usually see on those docking stations. Separate microphone and headphones ports are a plus. This dock features a rough surface to create friction, prevent your laptop from slipping. Now, we love this docking station because this dock can actually be used as a laptop dock or laptop stand. On the back, you’ll find more ports: DVI-I port, HDMI port, DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet port, another 2 USB 3.0 Type A ports, connector port and external power port. But it’s not just that, it’s full-fledged USB 3.0 Docking station with 3.5mm audio port and 2 USB 3.0 ports (in which 1 is the powered USB 3.0 port for charging) on the side. You’ll find that the Targus 2K Universal Docking Station is a standard, normal laptop stand, with rubber lines on top to prevent slippery. It can act as a stand under your laptop, and therefore, it’s not necessary to be pretty (LOL). The Targus 2K Universal Docking Station is not meant to be shown in open space, it’s meant to be hidden, under your laptop and do its work. 1 Audio In/Out port for mics, speakers and earphones. On the back, on the left to right, you’ll find power port, connector port (to connect to your laptop or pc), DisplayPort, 2 HDMI ports, LAN port, 2 USB 2.0 ports and the 3.5mm audio output port. On the front, you’ll find the 3.5mm audio port along with 3 USB 3.0 ports.

Why not turn your laptop into a working station at home or at your office. You can always buy a desktop, but that’s a waste of money, then you have problem with synchronizing data between each computers, not to mention you have to buy extra software licenses for both computers. If you prefer slim laptops because you want to work on any locations, but at the same time, you want to have a place to work with dual monitors and many USB devices. Laptops are getting thinner and thinner each day, and with that, many ports are removed to save space.
